Luke 2:6-7
The birth of Christ (Pronounced Chris – t)
(by Kathy Guagliardo)
My youngest brother goes by the name Chris, but his given name is actually Chris – t, because he was born on Christmas day.
It was 1964, Christmas Eve/Day, and my family was attending midnight mass. My mom was “great with child,” and during the service, her water broke. My mom and dad immediately left for the hospital, and my sister Barb, brother Ed and I were brought home by our neighbors. Chris – t, was welcomed into the family on Christmas day.

As you well know, Jesus was born on Christmas day. His mother Mary wasn’t in a church, nor was there a hospital available to her the night of Christ’s birth. Instead, Mary gave birth to her Son in a stable, and the baby was laid down in a manger, an animal’s feeding trough.
But Jesus was welcomed into His earthly family’s home that Christmas night. His birth, life, death, and resurrection would change the world forever. What an honor to be named Chris – t. Named after the Son of God, the savior of the world.
